Job Description

First Class Pipe Fitter

Pipe fitters are responsible for fitting pipes consisting of various materials such as: steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment. This is in accordance with drawing arrangements and blueprints. Working areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Pipefitter may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.  We stress the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.

• Duration:                                 Initially 1 year
• Base Pay Range:                   $29.61 per hour, depending on level of experience
• Start Date                                As soon as possible
• *Per Diem                                   $59.04 Days’ work ONLY! *To qualify for Per Diem candidates must live 75+ miles away*
