Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Adjunct Instructor I to provide high-quality instruction to both armed professionals and responsible citizens. The role involves teaching courses at basic, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as instructor-level training based on your experience and qualifications. As an instructor, you will work closely with other team members and interact with students to provide an exceptional learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver expert instruction for a range of designated courses, with a focus on specialty areas as assigned, using current, approved lesson plans.
Ensure course objectives and timelines are met while supporting various training events and programs.
Create and maintain a positive, engaging training environment both in the classroom and on the range, following established instructional methods and procedures.
Represent the organization at events, conferences, trade shows, and commercial sales, interacting with the public and promoting our mission.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality at all training sessions and events.
Adapt to various functional areas and/or facilities based on business needs, including working overtime or alternate shifts if necessary.
Follow and help sustain 5S standards and comply with all required safety and ISO procedures.
Perform miscellaneous duties as needed to support the team and organization.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, with 5+ years of instructor-level experience in firearms safety, handling, and training.
Previous law enforcement or military instructor experience is preferred.
Expertise in firearms, tactics, and the safe handling of a wide range of weapons, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, and automatic firearms.
Prior experience as an armorer is a plus.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks per month.
Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to speak comfortably in public and convey complex information clearly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills, able to effectively report problems and corrective actions to leadership.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt to changing needs.
Physical Requirements:
The position involves regular physical activity, including standing for extended periods (90%+ of the shift), walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
Lifting or moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds is a common task.
Frequent use of fine motor skills is necessary for tasks involving tools and equipment.
Must be able to clearly see and focus on fine details, both near and far, and maintain appropriate vision for the role.
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary and adhere to safety and security protocols.
Work Environment:
The role involves a mix of physical and instructional tasks in a typical training and manufacturing environment.
Shifts may vary, with 8, 10, and 12-hour options based on operational needs.
