For those with a passion for ministry and helping others through Christ, the College of Theology offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Christian Studies. Specializations include Youth Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Studies, and Christian Leadership.
As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Courses to be taught:
PHI-103 - Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics
"This course is an introduction to the discipline of philosophy through a study of representative philosophical problems. Students are introduced to analytic tools that enable them to practice critical thinking, evaluate knowledge claims, and establish a rationale and justification for other academic disciplines. Topics include logic, epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics."
PHI-307 - Applied Ethics
"This course examines difficult moral questions related to challenging bioethical and social issues to identify the morally correct course of action in various areas of human life."
As an adjunct faculty member, your responsibilities will include:
Facilitating classroom lectures and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
Assessing student performance by grading assignments and providing valuable feedback.
Providing a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
Qualifications:
Master’s in Philosophy (PhD preferred) with an emphasis in ethics, or a Master of Divinity with coursework in philosophy and ethics from an accredited college or university.
2 or more years of professional experience teaching philosophy or ethics at the postsecondary level.
