Hospice Art Therapist Salary: $24.03-$34.62/ hr BOE Schedule: Full time | 3 days weekly/ 24 hrs Location: Franklin County and surrounding area Requirements of the Hospice Art Therapist role: * Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) / Board Certification in Art Therapy (ATR-BC) and completion of clinical internship or supervision hours as required for certification. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a therapeutic setting, with preference for experience in hospice, palliative care, or healthcare environments. * Comfortable working in both private homes and facility settings. * Reliable transportation and ability to travel to patient homes, healthcare facilities, and other locations as required. About the Hospice Art Therapist role: * Provides therapeutic art interventions to hospice patients and their families to help alleviate emotional, psychological, and spiritual distress during the end-of-life journey. * Integrates artistic expression into the holistic care approach, helping patients and their loved ones cope with grief, loss, and transition. * Design and lead individualized and group art therapy sessions tailored to patients' emotional, cognitive, and physical abilities. * Utilize a variety of art materials and techniques (e.g., painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media) to facilitate self-expression and emotional processing. * Provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for patients to explore and express their feelings. * Assist patients and their families in addressing grief, loss, fear, anxiety, bereavement, and other end-of-life concerns through creative expression. * Offer emotional support to patients, their families, and caregivers through the art-making process, facilitate family involvement in the creative process when appropriate, fostering communication and connection. * Work closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other team members to develop personalized care plans. * Attend interdisciplinary team meetings (IDG) to share insights from art therapy sessions and contribute to holistic care discussions. * Communicate with the hospice care team regarding the patient’s progress, emotional well-being, and any notable developments in the therapy process. * Maintain accurate and timely records of art therapy sessions, assessments, and patient progress notes. * Follow HIPAA and organizational guidelines for patient confidentiality and documentation.
