Job Description

Tazza D'Oro   is looking for an Assistant Manager for our Oakland location.
Monday through Friday availability, with occasional weekend availability
34-40 hours per week

Primary Purpose: To assist the General Manager with operational tasks, oversee and ensure quality for all beverages and products, maintain the cleanliness of the cafe, create a positive work environment for employees, and provide exceptional service in a welcoming environment for all customers.   

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Oversee cleanliness of all store areas
2. Delegate tasks to staff and supervise their performance
3. Report employee issues/concerns to Manager in a timely manner
4. Complete ordering and maintain store inventory
5. Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
6. Coordinate with General Manager and shift supervisors for interviewing and training new hires
7. Continuously review processes for inefficiencies and lead the implementation of creative solutions
8. Ensure that staff are preparing handcrafted, quality beverages and products adhering to Tazza D’Oro and SCAA Standards.
9. Uphold the staff to quality customer service by regularly providing beverage and food quality coaching, and conducting performance reviews
10. Maintains the integrity of cash handling procedures and report all discrepancies to Store Manager 
11. Provide back-up in the absence of the General Manager. 
12. Maintains a calm, pleasant demeanor within a fast-paced environment, particularly during periods of high volume 

 

Minimum Requirements Experience:

• 2-3 years of specialty coffee experience
• 1-2 years shift supervisor/assistant manager experience
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills 
• Efficient problem solving skills
• Ability to work full time with flexible hours, work beyond shift hours if needed 
• Ability to work as part of a team with a positive, energetic and resourceful attitude 
• Serve Safe certification 

Education: 

1. High school diploma or equivalent 

Physical Requirements  

1. Occasional lifting of up to 40lb. Boxes
