Location: Richmond, VA - local candidates only
Position Type: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite
Contract Length: 5 months Position Overview:
The Business Analyst will work closely with project team in the development, support and functionality roll out of an Electronic Health Record system. This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and development teams to ensure they understand the current state to meet the future needs. The analyst is responsible for learning the new system’s capabilities and functional use and work with business end users to ensure that it meets business needs.
Duties: - Follow requirement elicitation strategies to gather requirements from business stakeholders
- Represent requirements in process flow and other suitable pictorial diagrams as needed
- Review current state documentation to ensure an understanding of requirements to support future needs
- Work with project team, vendor, and SMEs to understand the new system capabilities meets the business needs.
- Identify and document gaps where requirements are not met to brainstorm mitigation plan and collaborate with team members to seek resolutions for bottle necks and issues.
- Facilitate development of integrated workflow
- Ensure user journey is clearly understood, replicated with newer processes and suggest enhancements when applicable
- Ability to identify integration points.
- Work with technical team and vendor to ensure requirements are incorporated into systems design and testing, support system validation during iterations
- Keep Project Manager informed of key issues that may impact project implementation
- Facilitate project conference calls, status meetings, planning sessions, and provide for meeting notes when needed
- Support the Project manager in review of Project initiation steps such as RFPs, SOW, managing Agile tools, working closely with vendor team
- Communicate Risk implications to Risk/Project Manager
- Actively participate in functional and systems integration unit testing; creating test plans, scenarios, and testing results as necessary
- Assisting customers with user acceptance testing
- Support End-User training by developing and presenting training/demos to customers, documenting user manual when needed
- Providing implementation and maintenance support during rolling go-lives.
- Develop basic knowledge of Oracle Health tools such as Discern Explorer, Cerner Command Language (CCL) system operations, and interface usage
Required Skills: - 7 years of experience with project planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, business process mapping, procedural writing, process engineering
- 7 years of demonstrated skill in problem-solving, active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution, group visitation, written and oral communication
- 7 years of organization and time management, and presentation skills
- 7 years of experience with relational databases (SQL), software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, quality assurance practices, and change management processes.
- 7 years of experience using multiple project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile
- 7 years of experience working on different aspects of the same application while envisioning an integrated workflow as a final output
- 7 years of experience utilizing system-based project management applications, collaboration applications, and MS Office applications; Visio, SharePoint, Teams
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems or Computer Science, business, healthcare administration or minimum 7 years of equivalent experience
Preferred Skills: - Experience with Healthcare Information Systems
- Implementation experience with Electronic Health Records / Electronic Medical Records, especially Cerner / Oracle Health and/or previous experience
- Experience or knowledge with SEC 501 and familiarity with HIPPA
