Job Description

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment at two to three By the Sea Resorts hotels. They oversee a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that all hotel standards are met. The Chief Engineer must be able to manage staff effectively, resolve problems quickly and efficiently, and have a strong understanding of hotel engineering systems. Pay: Based on experience Benefits

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment at two to three By the Sea Resorts hotels, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances
• Manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that they are meeting all hotel standards
• Schedule maintenance shifts and assign tasks
• Train new maintenance technicians
• Inspect hotel facilities and equipment to identify and repair any problems
• Resolve guest complaints and issues related to maintenance
• Order and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
• Develop and implement new maintenance procedures and policies
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
• Work with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance to develop and implement the hotels' overall maintenance budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in a hotel engineering role, including at least 2 years of experience as a chief engineer
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
• Strong understanding of hotel engineering systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
