Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. As the CFO, you will play a vital role in shaping our financial strategy and ensuring the overall financial health of the organization. Your expertise will help guide our growth while fostering relationships with investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning: Design and implement a comprehensive financial strategy to support our growth objectives. Lead the financial planning and analysis efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure funds are available as needed. Manage banking relationships and develop strategies to enhance cash positions.
Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Present financial reports to the Co-CEOs and Board of Directors.
Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks. Implement financial controls and procedures to protect company assets.
Capital Structure Management: Manage the company's capital structure, focusing on debt and equity financing. Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial partners.
Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the annual budget to ensure operations remain within approved financial parameters. Implement cost control measures to enhance profitability.
Project Analysis: Analyze multifamily developments financed with Low-Income Tax Credits (LIHTC), prepare financial projections, evaluate potential investments, and create Preliminary Investment Reviews (PIRs) for proposed investments.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
Technology and Systems: Oversee the selection and implementation of financial systems and technologies to support business operations and enhance financial management.
Expertise in Tax Credits: Utilize your deep understanding of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credits (HTC) to maximize opportunities and ensure compliance with all related regulations.
Qualifications:
Experience: 10+ years in finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior financial leadership role. Experience in real estate development, construction, or a related field is highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or CPA designation is strongly preferred.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial strategy, corporate finance, and capital markets, with a proven track record in managing complex financial operations and driving business growth.
Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and drive positive change across the organization.
Communication: Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems, particularly advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling tools.
Compliance Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements, particularly in LIHTC and HTC.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex financial challenges.
Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience: $120,000 - $150,000
