Commercial Roofing Estimator

• Location: Sterling, VA
• Work Model: Onsite; 5 Days a Week - 60% Travel
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Summary

Our client is looking for a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their team! In this role, you will evaluate project specifications, conduct comprehensive roofing assessments, and develop accurate estimates for materials, labor, and project costs. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and maintain the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
• Conduct on-site roofing inspections to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather data for accurate estimates
• Use industry-specific software to prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, and project costs
• Research and obtain competitive pricing from vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions
• Develop clear, itemized bid proposals outlining project components and associated expenses
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project needs and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain proactive communication with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding project scope, timelines, and budgets
• Stay current with industry trends, building codes, regulations, and new roofing technologies
• Implement best practices and innovative approaches to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience as a Commercial Roofing Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, materials, installation techniques, and building regulations
• Proficiency with The Edge or other estimation software
• Familiarity with project management tools
• Ability to produce accurate, competitive, and data-driven estimates
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams, clients, and vendors
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Education/Certification Requirements

• No formal education or specific certification requirements are required for this role

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Relevant certifications in estimating, roofing systems, or project management
