In this Connectomics Research Associate (SRA II) role you'll work in the nexus of neuroscience research at UCLA. This position has a fixed hybrid schedule that requires on-site work 4-days per week. Key Responsibilities Include: + Primarily support highly technical and complex wet laboratory research procedures for projects with aggressive federally funded milestones through histological procedures and analyses utilizing animals. + Collaborates with principal investigator and other researchers to plan, design and conduct highly technical and complex research projects and experiments, as needed. + Develops workflows to meet all deadlines. + Identifies appropriate species, time needed to perform the studies, the resources needed, and the personnel required to complete all projects and experiments. Salary range: $28.88 - $46.46 Hourly Qualifications Required: + Previous experience in Connectomics + Knowledge of neurosurgery and stereotactic ICV implantation. + Effective organizational skills in wet laboratory administration. + Basic functional understanding of the research concerns related to the effects of perinatal ethanol exposure on certain neuroendocrine, neuroimmune, behavioral and neurochemical indices of central nervous system development and function. + Technical expertise and working knowledge of neuroanatomy, biochemistry and physiology + Experience in training staff and student workers as needed + Demonstrated ability to interpret data critically, prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings. Highly specialized technical histological skills and functional knowledge. + Broad theoretical and practical knowledge of standard organic, physical and analytical chemical methods.
