Construction Business Development Manager - Commercial Construction - Base Salary to 80k/year - Parsippany, NJ

  • Our client is a leading family owned and operated company specializing in the construction industry located in Northern New Jersey. The projects range from various retail locations to office buildings, multifamily developments, hospitals to residential homes, simple and extensive remodeling and new construction, to complete building infrastructure rehab., commercial tenant fit-out, ground up construction, multi-floor, single and multi-tenant construction.
  • The Construction Business Development Manager promotes company growth by identifying, developing, and implementing new business opportunities. The Construction Business Development Manager will be in charge of maintaining beneficial relationships with new clients, formulating strategic business plans, and ensuring the company's financial goals and objectives are met. The Construction Business Development Manager will be in charge of estimating any new project they bring to the table and will be given the autonomy to manage their own sales process.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively seek out and identify new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and oversee construction bids, while managing ongoing bid activities.
  • Coordinate and support the proposal process to ensure timely submissions.
  • Develop a comprehensive library of construction proposal templates for use across the sales department.
  • Persuade potential clients to commit to the company’s offerings.
  • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Design and implement development plans and growth initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with teams to formulate and execute growth strategies.
  • Establish and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Promote company products/services by addressing or anticipating client needs.
  • Plan and lead initiatives to generate and engage potential sales leads.
  • Track and report on business development outcomes and sales trends.
  • Enhance client satisfaction by resolving conflicts and managing expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Construction Management preferred.
  • 5+years' experience in business development in the construction management and general contracting fields.
  • Proven history of generating leads and managing B2B relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, and CRM software.
  • MBA or other relevant master's degree.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and estimating.

Compensation:

  • Base salary to 80k/year plus commission
