Title: Controller
Pay Rate: $60.00/hour
Position Location: Hybrid – Tysons, VA
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Start Date: Immediately

Controller Responsibilities:

• Manage project accounting processes, including leading the month-end close of assigned grant project portfolio
• Work with Finance and department staff to ensure an accurate, timely efficient and transparent process for the entire grant life cycle, from proposal to close
• Direct the review of field office general ledger transactions, timesheets, and financial documents to ensure completeness and audit readiness
• Manage, coach and mentor FT & PT staff members and potentially additional consultants’ interns or volunteers

Controller Qualifications:   

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• CPA a plus
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial analysis
• Attention to detail
• The ability to multitask
• Problem-solving skills
• Managerial abilities
• Interpersonal skills, including collaboration and communication
