Pay Rate : $100,000 to $130,000

Are you an experienced Controls Engineer with a passion for designing innovative conveyor systems for the automotive industry? We’re seeking a skilled  Senior Controls Engineer to lead electrical design projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Based in Auburn Hills, MI, this role offers a dynamic work environment, opportunities for advancement, and the chance to leave your mark in a fast-growing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design and development of conveyor components and systems.
• Collaborate with project engineers, managers, software developers, and vendors to refine equipment specifications and support product development.
• Participate in design reviews and customer site meetings to ensure project goals are met.
• Create and enhance CAD models of conveyor systems from concept to final implementation.
• Provide technical support to project managers, assembly teams, and site supervisors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Visit customer sites, vendors, and manufacturing facilities for meetings and project oversight (up to 25% travel within North America, including Mexico).
• Contribute to mechanical design tasks when required to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and programming  PLC systems for the automotive industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of  electrical circuits (24V DC, 120V AC, 240V AC, 480V AC) and motor control systems.
• Hands-on experience with  AutoCAD for electrical schematic design.
• Proficiency in  Allen Bradley Controls , Control RS Logix 5000, and  PanelView programming for HMI development.
• Strong understanding of  DeviceNet and Ethernet-based communication systems.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with  ePlan electrical design software .
• Experience with GM, Ford, and FCA control standards.
• Knowledge of  ArmorStart Motor Controllers and  PowerFlex Drives .
