Coordinator of Quality Department *Japanese / English Bilingual preferred.

Location: Newark, OH

Salary range: $63K - $70K DOE

Position Overview: This role is responsible for planning and directing activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and manage quality assurance systems to ensure continuous production aligns with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. They will provide guidance to both internal and external stakeholders involved in new model development to keep projects on track and meet deadlines. Additionally, this position will offer leadership and support to team members, ensuring adherence to company standards and product integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve departmental goals by effectively communicating job expectations and monitoring performance.
• Provide leadership and training to meet company objectives.
• Serve as the primary resource for quality control and assurance, focusing on problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Assist in maintaining the calibration program and managing the distribution of measuring equipment.
• Develop and manage quality assurance schedules and related activities.
• Act as the main point of contact for critical quality issues.
• Facilitate interdepartmental meetings to address customer quality concerns and significant internal quality matters.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of documented procedures for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
• Lead investigations into non-conformance issues and develop appropriate corrective actions.
• Follow up on and resolve pending preventative and corrective action requests.
• Create and maintain quality documentation such as FMEA, PQCT, inspection standards, and check sheets.
• Educate and train plant associates on quality assurance standards and procedures.
• Manage internal and external change control processes for customers and suppliers.
• Approve new suppliers and facilitate knowledge transfer across teams and business units.
• Promote quality practices at the source using available resources and operational standards.
• Participate in personnel decisions including promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Provide leadership to enhance working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and improve associate skills.
• Prepare for and facilitate ISO audits.
• Develop quality systems in collaboration with both existing and new customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a related field.
3. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Plex.
4. Skills:

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Organizational capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Proven facilitation and coaching skills.
• Positive attitude and adaptability in a changing environment.

1. Travel Requirement: Some travel may be necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English is a plus.
• Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) is preferred.
