Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Crime Analyst Supervisor, the Crime Analyst (CA) II independently performs complex analytical and technical functions associated with the operation of the Missing and Unidentified Persons Section and the Missing Children Clearinghouse mandated by Penal Code Sections 14200-14213. The CA II acts as a team leader, trains staff, updates procedures, is a liaison to law enforcement agencies, responds to public inquiries, charts and codes dental characteristics for entry into the National Crime Information Center, compares missing and unidentified persons x-rays for identification purposes, and testifies in court as necessary.

Working Conditions

This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.

This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
