LaSalle Network is partnering with a Healthcare system to identify a dedicated Data Migration Specialist to support a critical project migrating patient data from Cerner to EPIC. This role involves manually pulling and entering sensitive patient files, including progress notes and diagnoses, into the new EMR system. The Data Migration Specialists will work as part of a team to ensure accurate and efficient data migration, adhering to strict guidelines and timelines.

This is a 9-month contract opportunity and requires the ability to work onsite, 5 days per week.

Data Migration Specialist Responsibilities:

• Access the Cerner EMR system to export patient data through direct messaging
• Utilize the Continuity of Care Document (CCD) to organize and push out patient data
• Process approximately 200 patient files per day, ensuring each file is meticulously handled
• Validate the accuracy of patient data and ensure correct transfer into EPIC
• Collaborate with the data conversion team to review and confirm the proper display of migrated information in EPIC
• Extract relevant information from CCD reports and emails for data organization
• Verify patient demographic information and correct any inaccuracies
• Maintain high attention to detail to ensure data integrity throughout the migration process

Data Migration Specialist Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in data migration and validation, specifically in healthcare settings
• Proven experience migrating clinical data between EMR systems, preferably from Cerner to EPIC. Experience with either system is a plus but not required
• Familiarity with healthcare clinical terminology and practices
• General IT background, with a focus on data migration processes
• Previous involvement in a data migration project is highly desirable
• Strong analytical skills and ability to recognize and address inaccuracies in data
• Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining quality
• Candidates with experience as Medical Technologists, Coders or similar roles will excel in this position, as they will have a solid understanding of medical terminology and the intricacies of EMR systems. While these backgrounds are not mandatory, familiarity with the software and experience handling large volumes of data is advantageous
