Job Opportunity: Entry-Level Financial Analyst

Location: Alexandria, VA
Hourly Rate: $30.00/hour
Job Type:  Contract / Contract to Hire

Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a dynamic U.S.-based small business funding company who is currently seeking a Jr. Analyst for a temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This position is integral to their team, focusing on reviewing, researching, analyzing, and pricing deals up to $2M in gross annual revenue. The Jr. Analyst will support senior analysts by handling financial data, creating financial models, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting to guide investment and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and price a diverse range of deals, including those exceeding $1M in gross annual revenue, while considering affordability, credit, and various risk factors.
• Apply necessary stipulations to deals as appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with sales representatives regarding pricing adjustments and necessary steps.
• Attend credit committee meetings to provide insights and opinions on deal viability.
• Collaborate with other Underwriters to finalize funding decisions.
• Conduct a thorough final review for funding, including document analysis, research, and bank activity checks.
• Participate in quarterly performance reviews, including the analysis of defaults.
• Perform other duties related to job responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in consumer and/or commercial underwriting is required.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and credit report evaluation.
• Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• High level of discretion and strong work ethic.
