Job Summary

We are seeking a research assistant with passion working with wheat in the controlled environment (Growth chamber / Greenhouse). Candidate will be expected to routinely handle the growth and maintenance of plants in controlled environment and assist in the design and supervised or independent execution of experiments for research purposes. This position requires a highly motivated and results-oriented team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and scientific depth.

Job Description

• The day to day in this role is a lot of manual labor including watering plants, cleaning growth chambers, carrying out treatments whether physical treatment or chemical, making fertilizer, handling pollination and taking notes over progress of the plants. data recording, entering, error checks and analysis.

Skills Required

• Wheat research experience is a plus
• Hands-on experience with greenhouse/growth chamber plant care.
• Familiarity with plant physiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, and genomics.
• Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office, Excel, and data analysis software.
• Strong experimental design, data analysis and interpretation skills, strong ability to work in a team setting, and strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• MUST HAVES: Attention to details, organization skills, planning skills, flexibility, biology background, hand dexterity, positive attitude.
• Nice to Haves: Curiosity, big-picture perspective, mental agility, knowledge of plant physiology and morphology.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Biology, Plant Molecular Biology, or other related fields with plants care experience

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check
• 40 hours weekday, with occasional weekend or holiday works
• Worker Shift Start Time - 08:00 AM

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $17.00 to $28.50 per hour based on qualifications.
