Position: Estimator - Drywall and Paint
Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs for drywall and/or painting services, preparing detailed proposals, and supporting the sales team in securing new business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
* Perform detailed quantity take-offs for drywall and/or paint materials.
* Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
* Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to develop accurate and timely proposals.
* Identify and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities.
* Maintain and update pricing databases, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary project information.
* Assist in negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
* Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and schedules to ensure estimates are aligned with actual project outcomes.
* Provide support in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to project estimates.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the drywall and paint industry.
* Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes specific to drywall and painting.
* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
