Summary

This position completes Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility, and Attendance (ERSEA) for assigned classrooms. Family Advocates ensure all children are current on all physicals, dentals, and immunizations and perform hearing and vision screenings on all children in assigned classrooms. They assist teachers by providing any needed information such as screening results, family needs, etc. on each child. Must be prepared to work in classroom if substitute is not available and classroom is in danger of having to close for the day.

Duties

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
The Family Advocate handles recruitment and enrollment for the classrooms. He/she assist teachers by providing needed information such as screening results, family needs, etc. on each child. Establishes and maintains complete, up-to-date, accurate child/family records. Attends A-team meetings and staffing as needed. Works with parents/teaching staff to ensure the completion of dental & physical exams within the required period. Follow-up as necessary to ensure children receive proper immunizations after enrollment is completed. Makes scheduled home visits with parents as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS : 

Family Services Advocate: Must possess High School Diploma or GED; AA degree in Human Services, Sociology,
Social Work, or Psychology preferred

 
Prefer Family Service Credential with some experience in working with young children and families. Must have working knowledge of computers and ability to learn ChildPlus. 

 
A current physical, TB screening or chest X-Ray are required prior to working with children. Applicants should list bilingual skills if applicable. Family Resource Agency is a drug-free workplace. EOE.
