Job Description

Website Island LLC is seeking a skilled and creative Front End Drupal Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing visually appealing and user-friendly websites using Drupal CMS. This role requires expertise in front-end development, a strong understanding of Drupal theming, and the ability to collaborate with back-end developers and designers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop responsive, high-quality Drupal themes that align with project requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Convert design mockups into functional Drupal themes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Drupal theming layers (Twig, PHP templates).
  • Customize and enhance Drupal sites, including implementing new features, modules, and functionalities.
  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and back-end developers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Optimize websites for speed, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to front-end development, theming, and user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to Drupal coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing deadlines and priorities effectively.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in front-end web development with a strong focus on Drupal CMS.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including libraries such as jQuery), and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with Drupal theming, including custom themes, Twig, and preprocess functions.
  • Familiarity with PHP, MySQL, and Drupal module development is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
