Position Overview
We’re hiring a GIS Specialist with expertise in geographic information systems (GIS), AutoCAD, and spatial data management. This full-time, in-office role is ideal for someone who enjoys map creation, supporting field operations, and working in forestry, utility, or environmental sectors.

Responsibilities
• Create and update GIS maps for vegetation management projects (e.g., BC Hydro).
• Use AutoCAD software for spill contingency planning (Site C Project focus).
• Assist with archaeological site mapping, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Provide daily GIS support to field crews and project teams.
• Manage and maintain spatial databases and ensure data accuracy.
• Adapt to changing project scopes and tight deadlines with efficiency.

Required Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related field.
• Experience in a GIS position, preferably in forestry or resource management. Forestry field experience is an asset.
• Proficient in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Skilled in AutoCAD for mapping and technical drawings.
• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
