Job Description

The Health Coach advises dieters on concerns and practical ways in which they can improve their health by adopting healthier habits. Conducts follow-up sessions with dieters. Assists the service desk with client management. Performs other duties as assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Kinesiology, Counseling or related field preferred.
• Must obtain certification from the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching or the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. within six months of hire.
• MD Anderson Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification withing six months of hire – reimbursement eligible.

Responsibilities:

• Advises dieters on concerns and practical ways in which they can improve their health by adopting healthier eating habits. Receives measurable results and feedback from clients in these areas.
• Assists clients with the selection and purchase of products and supplements from multiple product lines.
• Stays abreast of current food, nutrition and health issues and research related to nutrition and weight management. Participates in continuing education.
• Regularly consults with Nutrition Manager related to techniques used, challenges, questions, etc.
• Keeps all client charts up to date. Ensures that all charts are organized and contain required information/forms.
• Collects data on dieter outcomes to monitor program efficacy.
• Accurately measures vitals and body composition.
• Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Schedule:

Tuesday and Thursday

8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• Potentially earn up to 20 hours a week.

Pay Range:

Hourly/Non-Exempt

$18.00 - $26.00; based on work experience
