What’s a typical day as a High Reach Fork Lift Operator? You’ll be:
• Using a stand-up reach forklift to move products, equipment, and materials
• Following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures
• Putting away palletized units into racks above floor height
• Picking palletized units out of rack locations above floor height for outbound shipment
• Choosing and recording materials, weight, counts, and condition of food items via Radio Frequency (RF) system
• Loading and unloading materials on and off pallets, skids, or lifting devices
• Completing daily forklift maintenance/check sheet
• Monitoring battery charge, maintaining, and cleaning batteries, and leaving material handling equipment at the proper charging station
• Working with other machinery and material handling equipment as needed
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have basic math skills
• Can understand instructions in English
• Are able to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear
• Can lift a minimum of 40 lbs./18 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility
• Are able to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed
• Are comfortable with various noise levels, at times, it can be loud
