Description Position: IAM Consultant - Entra ID Specialist (Fractional/Contract Role) Engagement Type: Part-time contract (5-10 hours per week) Duration: 3 months Overview: We are seeking an expert IAM Consultant with a deep focus on Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) to support a fractional project with limited hours. The role involves managing and optimizing Entra ID infrastructure while providing strategic guidance and training to teams. This consultant will work collaboratively with product management and engineering teams during the contract term. Responsibilities: + Provide technical expertise in administering and managing Entra ID for a large organizational setup with 5,000+ users. + Offer hands-on guidance in configuring Entra ID security features (conditional access policies, identity protection, SSO, RBAC, and MFA). + Advise on hybrid integration between on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID, including directory sync (Azure AD Connect, AD Sync, Cloud Sync) and migration strategies. + Design disaster recovery strategies specific to Entra ID, including secure backup/restore approaches and tenant/ransomware recovery. + Deliver training on Entra ID fundamentals to designated team members in 2x2-hour sessions. + Align with industry security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST) to ensure compliance within hybrid environments. + Facilitate ongoing communication (4 hours/week post-initial ramp-up) to address follow-up questions and provide continued support during implementation. + Collaborate with internal teams to set up clusters and necessary AD software environments for testing and optimization. Requirements Skills & Qualifications: + Proven hands-on experience managing Entra ID environments in large-scale organizations. + Expertise in Entra ID attributes, roles, enterprise/registered apps, and conditional access features. + Strong familiarity with hybrid systems, syncing AD to Entra ID, and cloud integration best practices. + Advanced knowledge of IAM security practices, including privileged session management, lifecycle management, JIT access, and compliance auditing. + Experience with disaster recovery for directory services, including tenant recovery strategies within Entra ID. + Solid understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST and how they apply to IAM and hybrid solutions. + Bonus: Proficiency in Azure IAM systems and advanced permission management frameworks. Engagement Details: + Ramp-Up Period: 8 hours per week for the first two weeks to facilitate integration and training. + Ongoing Commitment: 4-6 hours/week afterward, allocated for consultations and follow-ups. + Collaboration: Work with U.S.-based technical and product teams while accessing internal Rubrik environments to support Entra ID setup and configuration.
