About Us

KidTek, NFP (KidTek) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide in low income communities by providing technology skills through classroom instruction, after school programs and summer camps to school age youth. The founders sought to create an educational safe haven for youth. Our instructors deliver valuable computer science, digital design, and technology skills that are invaluable in the 21st Century workplace. We provide opportunities that enhance youth exposure to technology, team building, entrepreneurship skills, and cultural experiences. These experiences improve self-esteem while giving them the sense of confidence needed to compete and succeed in today's technology driven environment.

The Role: The Technology Instructor

Candidates commit to a mindset that centers their unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, college, and beyond through self-awareness of their practice. Successful candidates deploy a sense of humility and commit to aligning KidTek expectations in their role as differentiated by campus specific expectations. Candidates demonstrates the qualities of a team player who steps up to meet department needs and views success as a group accomplishment

Technology Instructors

• Create project based lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and levels
• Demonstrates proficiency in content knowledge and content-related skills
• Develop, write, and edit high-quality digital content including instructional videos, learning modules, instructional materials, and multimedia content.
• Prep for classes: arriving 30 minutes to set up and prepare to start class on time.
• Provide culturally responsive instruction
• Collaborate with educators to create content that aligns with educational standards and enhances learning experiences.
• Use data to refine and inform day-to-day instructional practice
• Models dignity, respect and professionalism at all times.
• Takes a holistic approach to classroom management integrating pedagogy, communication, discipline and child development
• Communicate with parents on student progress
• Assesses and encourages student progress and manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement

Qualifications

Baseline Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching Adobe Illustrator
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Eligibility to work in the US on a full time basis
• Cleared CPS background check
• Teaching experience and classroom management skills
• Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative educational content ideas.
• Effectively guide students to create a wide range of projects
• Comfortable working with high school students, and comfortable working independently leading a class of students.
• Reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications (one or more)

• Classroom management skills
• Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
• Adobe After Effects
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Premiere
• ACA Certification
• At least 2 years experience working with youth

• 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Monday thru Friday

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
