Job Summary

We are seeking a Instrument and Electric al Technician to join our client's team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and reliable operation of instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems. This position is essential for ensuring plant safety, efficiency, and quality by supporting all safety, health, environmental, and process safety management practices.

 

Job Description

  • Participate in the Life Critical Safety program.
  • Support and comply with all safety, health, and environmental procedures.
  • Adhere to process safety management practices and operate within the established quality systems, reporting any deficiencies.
  • Suggest improvements for plant safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Troubleshoot plant instrumentation, electrical, and control system problems.
  • Execute work orders, identify corrective maintenance activities, and enter work orders and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks into the Maximo CMMS.
  • Participate in the execution and improvement of the facility’s I&E PMs.
  • Maintain test equipment calibration and associated records.
  • Perform analyzer calibrations as required.
  • Maintain equipment records in both the CMMS and written form.
  • Work closely with contractors and monitor contractor work quality.
  • Operate breakers and switchgear as necessary.
  • Maintain facility documentation (P&ID, loop sheets, spec sheets, etc.) for approved changes.
  • Perform routine inspections on equipment as per Reliability Center standards.
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis reviews.
  • Assist the Maintenance Coordinator in maintaining equipment manuals.
  • Be familiar with Reliability, Maintenance, and Corporate standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

 

Skills Required

  • ETEC program certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Ability to maintain, repair, and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, control valves, etc.
  • Basic understanding of the facility’s control system.
  • Thorough knowledge of the operation and safety aspects of MCC/switchgear.
  • An understanding of the facility's process.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma required (2-year technical degree preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) experience.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shi ft: M-F  7AM - 4PM PST
  • Full range of motion and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to climb and ascend vertical ladders as required.
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
  • On-call availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
