Job Description

We are seeking highly skilled Insurance Underwriter that will help the clients achieve their goals by implementing effective solutions to manage their risks. Also will be responsible for advising internal and external producers on personal lines insurance, effectively managing risks, and completing the underwriting process in accordance with applicable regulations.

Key responsibility:

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of clients’ risk exposures.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers to negotiate optimal terms and conditions.
• Provide quotes and align risk exposures with the best-suited insurance carrier for client needs.
• Efficiently operate within the agency management system and offer assistance to others as required.
• Verify that issued policies include the requested coverages and ensure accuracy according to the provided specifications.
• Serve as a point of reference for others and offer training when necessary.
• Conduct data research and analysis to enhance client insurance programs, offering recommendations on coverages.
• Handle endorsements and renewals in a timely and efficient manner.
• Evaluate requests, appraisals, and customer requirements to recommend the most appropriate product.
• Oversee non-renewal or cancellation notices and suggest alternative solutions for risk placement.
• Maintain and update the agency’s core system with relevant policy information and specifications received from internal/external producers.
• Engage with clients during the renewal process to gather policy information and update changes.
• Assist Insurance Producers with prospective clients by explaining policy features and recommending coverage based on their individual needs.
• Offer support to the claims department.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) completed.
• 5 years of experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
