Job Description

We are excited to invite applications for the position of Commercial Insurance Underwriter. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preference for candidates located in Florida, as well as those from surrounding Gulf and Eastern Seaboard states.

In this role, you will report to the Underwriting Operations Manager and play a crucial part in evaluating new business submissions. Your primary responsibility will be to assess each application for coverage to determine the acceptability of the risk involved.

As a Commercial Insurance Underwriter, you will:

- Review initial information provided by prospective insureds and agents.
- Prepare quotes and maintain ongoing communication with prospective insureds and agents until the policy is finalized or a decision is made not to proceed.
- Price and rate new submissions in accordance with established guidelines, collaborating with the Underwriting Operations Manager as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insureds and agents.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of production goals.
- Oversee and assist Underwriting Assistants with specific endorsement requests and bind requests to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor and facilitate Renewal Underwriters' tasks, including renewal evaluations, revisions, and processing bind requests as necessary.
- Support a variety of administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Strong attention to detail.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
