Job Description

We are excited to welcome a talented Commercial Insurance Underwriter to our dynamic team! This remote position is primarily for candidates in Florida, but we also encourage applicants from surrounding Gulf and Eastern Seaboard states.

As a Commercial Insurance Underwriter, you will report to the Underwriting Operations Manager and play a crucial role in evaluating new business submissions. Your primary responsibility will be to assess applications for coverage, ensuring that each risk meets our established underwriting guidelines.

In this role, you will:

- Review initial information provided by prospective insureds and agents.
- Prepare quotes and maintain open communication with prospective insureds and agents until policies are finalized or it is determined not to proceed.
- Price and rate new submissions in accordance with our guidelines, discussing findings with the Underwriting Operations Manager.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insureds and agents.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the underwriting process.
- Contribute to achieving production goals while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Monitor and assist Underwriting Assistants with specific endorsement requests, accuracy checks on bind requests, and other duties as needed.
- Support Renewal Underwriters in evaluating renewals, processing bind requests, and making necessary revisions.

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
