As a Junior Fraud Analyst at Augmentjobs, you will be a key member of our Fraud Prevention team, responsible for identifying and investigating potential fraudulent activities. Your role will involve monitoring transactions, analyzing data, and collaborating with other team members to prevent and mitigate fraud risks. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a keen interest in fraud detection and a strong analytical mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fraud Detection: Monitor and review transactions for signs of suspicious activity using fraud detection tools and techniques.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze transaction data and customer profiles to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraudulent behavior.

  • Investigation: Conduct initial investigations into flagged transactions or activities, gathering relevant information and documentation.

  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on suspicious activities and investigations, providing recommendations for further action.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior fraud analysts and other departments to ensure effective fraud prevention measures are in place.

  • Compliance: Ensure all fraud-related activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to verify transactions and resolve issues related to suspected fraud.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Criminal Justice, Data Science, or a related field preferred.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with fraud detection software and tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and customer interaction.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual tasks.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and fraud detection methods.

  • Ethics: High level of integrity and understanding of confidentiality and compliance issues related to fraud.
