Job Description and Duties

This position is for Coalinga State Hospital.

Under supervision from the Clothing Center Manager, performs skilled work in washing operations in a Clothing Program, to maintain and make minor adjustments and repairs to laundry machinery and equipment; may supervise, instruct, and work with employees and helpers from the patient/resident population. the Minimum Qualifications for this position:
Either I

One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Laundry Worker Assistant.

Two years of experience in a laundry. This experience must have included operation of washers, tumblers, and other washroom equipment.

Working Conditions

Sufficient strength and agility to load unload and operate industrial capacity laundry machines.  U nderstanding of and willingness to work with the patient/resident population of a State institution; personal cleanliness; freedom from communicable diseases; and ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
