Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Logistics Manager to oversee and manage our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics activities to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of products. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies that optimize the transportation and distribution of goods, ensuring cost-efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of logistics coordinators, drivers, and warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Transportation Coordination: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of deliveries, ensuring compliance with delivery timelines and customer requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Inventory Control: Collaborate with warehouse managers to monitor inventory levels, manage stock replenishment, and ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all logistics activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage logistics budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing logistics expenses.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data to identify trends, monitor performance metrics, and generate reports for senior management.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively address and resolve any issues related to transportation, delivery delays, or inventory discrepancies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems). Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles, transportation regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and senior management.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or similar are highly desirable.
  • Experience in Industry: Previous experience in [specific industry, e.g., retail, manufacturing, e-commerce] logistics is preferred.
