Job Description

Job Summary: BrightStar of West Lake County is currently seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is committed and passionate about making a major positive impact on a child's life. You will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of students in the Merrillville, Indiana area. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Conduct health screenings and assessments for students
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Educate students on health-related topics, such as nutrition, hygiene, and injury prevention
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all students
• Communicate with parents/guardians and school staff regarding the health of students
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans
• Monitor and track immunization and vaccination records for students
• Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid treatment until emergency medical services arrive
• Adhere to all state and federal healthcare regulations and guidelines

Requirements:

• Current LPN license in the state of Indiana
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a pediatric, school, or community health setting
• CPR certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and electronic medical records
• Ability to work a full-time schedule and maintain regular attendance
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
