Mainframe Developer
Location : Rockville, Maryland

Type: Contract
Compensation: 180k
Contractor Work Model: Onsite

ALTA IT Services is seeking a highly experienced  Z/OS Mainframe Developer with deep expertise in Assembler, COBOL, and CICS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services systems and thrive in an Agile development environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in:
• COBOL
• DB2
• Command-Level CICS
• JCL
• Batch processing
• TSO/ISPF

• Extensive hands-on experience with  Assembler ,  COBOL , and  CICS in a  Z/OS Mainframe environment
• Strong coding skills with proven adherence to development standards
• Familiarity with  SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Experience with  FIS OPF (Open Payments Framework)for ACH processing
• FIS Connex experience is a plus, but not require

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, define, and document technical designs
• Design and develop new applications and integrate enhancements
• Maintain and monitor systems post-deployment
• Prepare test data, conduct testing, and debug code
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Conduct research and provide technical recommendations
• Participate in full-cycle application development

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with  Serena ChangeMan ZMF
• Development experience with  IBM Mainframe Assembly language and  Concept 14 macros
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and adapt to changing requirements
