Compensation : $125,000 - $130,000 per year + Full Benefits

About the Role

Our Fortune 250 dairy food manufacturing client is seeking a Maintenance/Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance and reliability at a highly automated dairy/cheese manufacturing plant near Sheboygan, WI. This role is crucial to optimizing plant productivity by managing assets, facilities, and equipment modifications. The Maintenance/Facilities Manager will work closely with Engineering, EH&S, and Quality to coordinate project scopes, capital requests, expense estimates, and project implementation. The role includes overseeing contractor and vendor relationships and ensuring equipment maintenance standards are met.

Team Structure : This position supervises 3 direct reports and 13 indirect reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of maintenance and reliability strategies to enhance productivity.
• Manage site assets, facility maintenance, and equipment modifications.
• Collaborate on project scopes, capital requests, and expense estimations.
• Oversee contractor and vendor selection, equipment specifications, purchases, and project implementation.
• Ensure maintenance resources are available for seamless production.
• Develop maintenance team skillsets across shifts to maintain technical proficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Education :
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a food processing field, with at least 5 years of industrial plant experience (including 3+ years in leadership).
  • Alternatively, an associate’s degree in a mechanical/utilities field with 7+ years of technical maintenance experience (including managing personnel and capital projects).
• Experience :
  • Expertise in dairy, food, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (PSM-regulated) and related maintenance systems.
• Skills :
  • Project management skills, including project planning and execution.
  • Proficient in process control, mechanical and electrical systems, and GMP standards.
  • Familiarity with FDA and OSHA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation.
  • RETA Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certification is preferred (or the ability to obtain it).
