We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our maternity practice in Howell, NJ. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting both patients and healthcare providers, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality care in a warm, patient-centered environment. This role requires someone who is organized, empathetic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Greet and check in patients, ensuring all paperwork is completed and accurate.
• Assist healthcare providers with prenatal, postnatal, and gynecological examinations.
• Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and sterilized.
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens as needed.
• Provide patient education on prenatal care, postpartum recovery, and other maternity-related health topics.
• Manage patient medical records and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient inquiries.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and coordinating patient referrals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
• Previous experience in maternity or women’s health practice is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required.
