Position Summary The Medical Scribe works directly with physician to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.

• Accompanies physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.
• Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
• Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
• Documents any procedures performed by the physician
• Other duties as required.

Education Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training and Travel 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• 1-3 years medical scribe experience, preferred.
• Medical terminology one year, training education and/or experience, preferred.
• Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
• Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
• Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information.
• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
• Windows 10 based PC
