We are representing a fantastic company near Danville, PA that is looking to bring on a licensed Medical Technologist (MT to perform flow cytometry testing on site. The essential responsibilities of this role include ensuring that testing procedures are followed accurately to guarantee accurate results for patients and providers.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee daily operations of the flow cytometry department
• Ensure a functional and effective laboratory through routine equipment maintenance, quality control procedures, and monitor testing supply levels and laboratory conditions
• Be primarily responsible for ensuring that equipment is functional and providing maintenance and troubleshooting
• Drive testing enhancements with the help of the Director and Pathologists
• Write and edit laboratory standard operating procedures
• Be able to effectively troubleshoot instrumentation, testing performance and other issues within the laboratory
• Train and educate testing personnel in the laboratory as well as provide education to students, residents and other medical professionals
• Perform high complexity flow cytometry testing including immunophenotyping for leukemia and lymphoma programs, lymphocyte subset analysis and additional flow cytometry-based testing
• Independently analyze and report patient results within the electronic medical record as well as directly to clinicians
• Organize and coordinate sample processing and testing workflow within the laboratory
• Effectively interact with other members of the laboratory and clinical programs while communicating complex medical information
• Independently drive quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Remain up to date with the current state of the art within the fields of laboratory medicine, especially histocompatibility, immunogenetics and flow cytometry, and participate in continuing education activities both internal and external

Use knowledge of the laboratory and testing methodologies to evaluate and validate new equipment and technologies

Preferred Profile:

• Bachelor's of Science in chemical, physical, or chemical science
• ASCP certification as Medical Technologist (MT) or cytogenetic technologist (CG)
  2+ years of previous clinical testing experience
  Previous flow cytometry experience highly preferred.
