Job Title: Cloud Security Consultant

Department:  IT

Reports to: CIO

FLSA Status: Exempt

Overview: As a Cloud Security Engineer, youwill play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining cloud securitymeasures using Microsoft Purview, Entra, and Defender for Cloud/Defender forCloud Apps technologies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functionalteams and end-users to ensure the secure deployment and operation of cloudenvironments, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams and end-users on Microsoft Purview, Entra, and Defender for Cloud/Defender for Cloud Apps technologies.
• Communicate effectively with clients to advise on best practices for utilizing these technologies in cloud environments.
• Deploy and implement Microsoft Purview, Entra, and Defender for Cloud/Defender for Cloud Apps solutions, ensuring smooth integration and operation.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge documentation for testing, troubleshooting, mitigation, and resolution related to these technologies.
• Assess, envision, plan, design, and implement security and compliance capabilities leveraging Microsoft Purview, Entra, and Defender for Cloud/Defender for Cloud Apps products.
• Assist stakeholders throughout deployment to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Cloud experience with any of the major cloud providers
• Knowledge of specific security solutions or products relevant to Microsoft’s cloud security platform.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and Azure portals.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra technologies (Identity Governance, Enterprise Application integration, Conditional Access policies).
• 5+ years of experience with Defender for Cloud/Defender for Cloud Apps, particularly in application integration and policies associated with Conditional Access session and access for applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Security Certification.
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing security and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview, Entra, and Defender for Cloud/Defender for Cloud Apps.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting for cloud security and compliance tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; 5 years previous related experience. A current valid NM Driver’s License and a clean driving record is required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, bend, stoop, push, pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors in an office setting.
