About the Role:
As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will play a vital role in helping customers navigate their mortgage options, focusing primarily on purchase lending. Your responsibilities include advising customers, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines, and delivering excellent service throughout the loan process.
Key Responsibilities:
Discuss mortgage options for purchase loans with prospective and current customers.
Occasionally assist with refinance loans for previous clients.
Manage the loan process according to legal and company guidelines, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Follow up with prospective clients regarding submitted documents, analyze credit reports, and research further as needed.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHMC, VA, and USDA products to provide exceptional service and communication to borrowers.
Adhere to all phone disclosure requirements when communicating with customers.
Explain various loan products to customers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
Ensure loans comply with guidelines, applicable state and federal regulations, and investor requirements.
Collaborate with operations staff for efficient file processing.
Provide outstanding customer service to clients and agents throughout the loan process.
Establish and maintain relationships with agents and title companies.
Participate in professional associations, such as banker associations or community organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and USDA products.
Understanding of purchase transactions and relevant guidelines.
Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and loan origination systems.
Proficiency in industry-specific software (e.g., Lead management systems, DU, LP, Appraisal Management Software) is preferred.
