Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Remote
Duration: Part-Time Contract

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support our migration from Velocloud SD-WAN to Cisco Secure Access. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cisco networking and SD-WAN technologies, with hands-on experience in network configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting in both on-prem and cloud environments (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of 26 sites currently using Velocloud to Cisco Secure Access.
• Configure and optimize Cisco Secure Access deployments across three Azure regions.
• Implement and validate SD-WAN capabilities including:
• Graceful Failover (high priority)
• Load Balancing
• Traffic Prioritization
• Point-to-Point Traffic Pinning
• Ensure seamless network performance and connectivity across all sites.
• Configure Cisco Secure Access for on-premises users to print locally and access resources efficiently.
• Collaborate with internal IT and infrastructure teams to ensure successful deployment and minimal downtime.
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer for future maintenance and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Strong expertise with Cisco Secure Access, Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), and Velocloud.
• Proven experience configuring and managing Azure network environments.
• In-depth understanding of SD-WAN architectures, failover, QoS, traffic shaping, and VPN configurations.
• Familiarity with local resource access policies (e.g., printers, shared drives) in hybrid networks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
