Job Summary:
Responsible for providing medical care as delegated by the physician. This APP will work in rotation with another APP in the clinic covering general urgent orthopedic needs on a rotating week on week off schedule.
Weekend clinic hours are Saturday morning only and off on Sunday. This position does not take inpatient or outpatient call and is eligible for monthly stipends and productivity bonus.
Duties:
1. Performing comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations.
2. Diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries, and disorders related to the musculoskeletal system.
3. Assisting physicians in orthopedic surgeries and other medical procedures.
4. Interpreting and integrating data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans.
5. Prescribing medications within prescribed guidelines and instructions.
6. Providing pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education about surgery procedures, methods of recovery, and follow-up care.
7. Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each patient.
8. Documenting patient's condition, diagnosis, treatments, responses, and progress effectively in patient medical records.
9. Performing minor procedures and treatments as trained and directed.
10. Staying updated with the latest developments and techniques in the field of orthopedics.
