Title: Overnight Dog Handler

Part-time, On-call to start (must be on site)

Location: Seattle, WA

Job Summary: As an Overnight Dog Daycare Attendant you will be responsible for the overnight supervision and care of dogs staying in our facility. Your duties will include monitoring the dogs' well-being, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing any necessary care throughout the night. This role requires a high level of responsibility, compassion, and attention to detail to ensure that all dogs are safe and comfortable during their stay. You are a compassionate and vigilant individual who can handle various breeds and temperaments confidently. Your attention to detail and ability to respond to any signs of distress or health issues promptly will ensure that every dog enjoys a safe and comfortable stay at our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the health and behavior of all dogs during the overnight shift during the hours of 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM ensuring their safety and comfort
• Perform regular checks on all dogs, including supervising groups, feedings, and administering medications as needed
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, including cleaning kennels, play areas, and common spaces
• Ensure each dog receives meal times (as needed) and fresh water available at all times
• Respond promptly to any signs of distress or health issues, following protocols
• Keep detailed records of any observations, incidents, or care provided during the shift
• Communicate effectively with daytime staff to relay important information about the dogs' overnight behavior and needs
• Ensure all dogs have access to fresh water and have regular potty breaks
• Follow all safety and operational procedures to maintain a secure facility
• Communicate with team and manager
• Perform emergency procedures as needed
• Foster a work culture that prioritizes brand mission, while having fun at the job
• Maintain brand excellence by ensuring the store's presentation and client experience align with our standards, while adhering to dress code and grooming guidelines for employees
• Assist with other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting, such as a daycare, boarding facility, or veterinary clinic, is preferred
• Genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being
• Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and breeds safely and confidently.Strong observation skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including walking, bending, and lifting
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and first aid is a plus

Must-Haves

• Overnight work hours from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 1 year of previous experience in dog care, pet services preferred
• Genuine Dog lover - an absolute must have!
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
