Job Description

Marlow & Sons is hiring a full time Pastry Cook.

We are a small team that enjoys working together and expect that all members of the team contribute to the whole. While this is a Pastry Cook position, the work won’t be the same every day. Additional expectations include making family meal one day / week and maintaining the general operations of the kitchen, contributing where and when necessary.

This is a full time position that requires early morning start times, weekend availability, and schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities include:
- Working the morning baking shift beginning at 7am
- Pastry production (proficiency with basic pastry counter preparations; muffins, scones, loaf cakes, yeasted pastries, and cookies
- Pastry prep for dinner service (producing cakes, ice creams, tarts, and specialty desserts)
- Assist with Family meal preparation
- Good, basic knife skills
- General kitchen knowledge and capacity to work in an efficient and organized manner

The ideal candidate will:
- Have 2 years of pastry experience with excellent production skills
- Bring detail and care to their work
- Be reliable, focused, organized, communicative, and curious
- Be able to self-manage as well as be managed
- Be organized, friendly, and reliable
- An interest in working in various capacities toward meeting the goals of the team and the business.

While performing the duties of the job, a cook is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
