Job Description

Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for a Patient Care Technician (PCT). The PCT provides personal care and professional excellence by assisting in observing patients and implementing nursing care under the direct supervision of an RN.

Job duties:

• Make and document observations of patients as directed by an RN and within parameters of education level.
• Contribute to formulation of patient care plans as directed by RN.
• Competent to perform procedures and use equipment required in the care of medical/ surgical/pediatric patients (if completed that portion of nursing education).
• Recognize and report immediately to RN any changes in a patient's condition such as a code, shock or adverse reaction.
• Know legal aspects and liabilities of nursing practice as a student nurse working as a nursing assistant.
