The Payroll/Benefits Assistant will assist in ensuring accurate payroll processing and the effective administration of employee benefits plans. This role is critical in maintaining smooth operations within the payroll and benefits functions and ensuring that employees are compensated timely and receive the necessary benefits information.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in payroll, benefits administration, or general HR support is preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and payroll software.
· Bilingual is Preferred (Spanish)
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
· Timesheet Verification: Ensuring all submitted timesheets are correct and complete and ready for payroll processing.
· Assist with calculating and processing bonuses checks to employees
· EDD Audit Forms: Completing and managing EDD audit forms.
· Completing VOE Forms accurately and in a timely manner
· Processing employee garnishments in accordance with legal requirements.
· Transfer Process: Managing transfers for Trainees and Agents effectively.
· Setting Up Deductions: Correctly setting up various payroll deductions.
· Benefits Reconciliation – Ensure accuracy of benefit premium on offboarding
· Providing Reports: Generating and providing reports to other departments, such as time sheets and registers.
· Accurately updating accounting template with payroll information.
· Employee Profile Audit – Completing full cycle audit on employee’s profile.
· Uploading files to payroll badges – Uploading Commission and 401K reports accurately upon submitting payroll.
· Full cycle of uncashed checks – Ensuring that all checks from payroll account are cashed.
· Respond to employee payroll inquiries and help resolve discrepancies.
· Monthly Benefits Audits to verify accuracy on deductions and Billing
· Benefit eligibility enrollment for new hires
· Administration of AFLAC and 401K Plan
· Open enrollment process for different entities
· Manage benefits for affiliated offices
· Manage benefits for employees on FMLA or LOA
· Reconciliation of benefits for offboarding
· Support employees with benefit questions
