Role: PMO Analyst
Duration: 5 to 6 months
Client Location: Manhattan Beach, CA
Essential Job Responsibilities
Propose and implement solutions that continually improve the portfolio framework and the end-to-end processes (demand, project, change requests, issue escalation, completion, benefits realization)
Refine the demand intake process and continue building it into our PPM system (SmartSheet) to improve request tracking and enable efficient workflows
Build portfolio reports and dashboards for executive level visibility, considering diverse stakeholders
Configure and administer our portfolio management tool (SmartSheet), while also ensuring data consistency and availability in the portfolio
Analyze portfolio data and provide thought leadership on trends, reports and dashboards
Content spar with SMEs and project teams on decision-making artefacts and investment requests
Participate in and support preparations for meetings/summits that manage resourcing and other interdependencies within the portfolio
Prepare Portfolio Board (and similar) presentations and facilitate meetings
Identify where collisions are likely to occur and propose options for preventing or mitigating them.
Actively champion and communicate about portfolio management best practices and processes to support division-wide learning, leveraging multiple communication channels and modalities to consolidate that learning
Job Requirements
1+ year SmartSheet configuration experience; or, same experience with other PPM tools and be ready to fast-track on
SmartSheet learning paths and certification
Good planning skills and ability to handle multiple assignments at the same time
3-5 years' PMO or portfolio experience in either IT or a Business function (Product, Sales, HR, etc.)
Familiarity with project management methodologies including Waterfall & Agile (Kanban or Scrum); hands-on project
management experience and certification are a plus
Financial savviness and experience weighing investment decision criteria

Technical Skills
Previous use of a project or portfolio management tool, especially SmartSheet
Experience with all Microsoft Office products especially Excel
Project Management certification a plus
Change management a plus
Any revenue generating experience a plus
