Job Description

The story: Since September 2023, Ciro has been an authentic Italian dining experience nestled in the heart of Oak Park, IL.  The concept is led by Chef Ciro Parlato who offers the community a taste of genuine Italian cuisine from all 20 regions. Chef Ciro has over 26 years of experience in the hospitality sector and worked all over Italy for 15 years. At Ciro, each dish we serve is a celebration of true Italian flavors, crafted with love from family recipes and a touch of contemporary technique.  We do not Americanize anything we do. We keep it simple, genuine, and fresh!

About the role:
We are seeking a candidate who cooks for a living and not as a hobby. The candidate must have experience in a high pressure professional kitchen and should be comfortable being micro managed if necessary. The candidate should be eager to deepen their knowledge of the culinary arts and classic french technique. The candidate must also have knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine from the majority of Italian regions. The candidate should be willing to grow within the company and must care about hospitality as a whole. 

Requirements:

1. Available to work TWO am shifts and THREE pm shifts for a total of 30hr weekly.
2. Available to work weekends (SUNDAYS OFF)
3. Available to work as both a prep and line cook 
4. Be personable and presentable throughout the entire duration of their work shift.
5. Passionate about cooking, hospitality, and Italian cuisine.
6. Must be eager to be part of a team focused on quality and authenticity.
7. Fluent in English with a minimum of THREE years of professional culinary experience as a prep and line cook 
8. Basic math skills such as calculating product loss percentages and an undersranding fractions 
9. Ability to multitask and to think  TWO STEPS AHEAD 
10. Willing to follow specific work procedures and recepies 

Last but not least
The candidate has to be willing to do A WEEK-LONG TRIAL PERIOD to see if a work relationship can be established. Afterwords, the candidate will go through a minimum of 6 WEEKS of intense training before settling in as a Ciro employee and therefore getting paid in full.
