Product Designer II Location Atlanta, GA : The Inspire Brands User Experience Research & Design team designs web and app experiences for our brands, and we are looking for a Product Designer II with a passion for, and experienced in designing ecommerce experiences that are simple, usable, and desirable for our users. This role will help usher in next generation experiences for our portfolio of brands. The Product Designer II will actively design experiences for our brands, mentor other designers, and help evolve our unified design system. Our designers translate business goals to digital experiences in collaboration with other teams including Brand, Product Management, Engineering and Performance Analytics. Individual responsibility is very high, but impact and reward are huge. The UX Research & Design team at Inspire Brands is a centralized team with designers working with pod teams to design and develop prioritized items from our product roadmap in an agile environment. This role is based in the Atlanta Support Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Define opportunities working with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand, et al. Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into testing hypotheses.
- Sketch, wireframe, and prototype product experiments. Collaborate with engineers to investigate concept feasibility.
- Design high-fidelity, content-first solutions with UI, visual, and interaction excellence. Iterate with developers during the build phase to realize and ship new product.
- Coordinate UX research and prototype tests with Inspire guests.
- Advocate for and initiate product iteration to improve shipped work. Evaluate new insights and iterate again, quickly.
- Collaborative work with the rest of the UX team - critiques, design jams, group learning, contributing to the design system etc
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-Year degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology or a related field, OR equivalent training and experience in UX Design and Interaction Design
- Masters Degree Preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES
- 5+ years of experience in UX design and Product design, including product thinking, e-commerce design, interaction design, information architecture, mobile-first web and app responsive design, design research. This is not a graphic design / visual design role.
- Solve more complex design problems at the charter/capability level (e.g., overall shopping experience). Able to manage multiple projects at a time. Being self-directed, organized, efficient are key.
- Design projects may have you work as the solo designer, or team up with other UX designers, and could involve leading junior designers where applicable.
- Cross-functional influence: Consistently contributes to the meeting, often driving sections or topics during the meeting.
- Process contribution: Often develops new processes or enhances team processes to improve quality and efficiency.
- Independently facilitates small-to-medium sized groups without oversight and guidance. Can plan and execute interviews and/or meetings on their own or as part of a group.
- Responsible for presenting own ideas and work as well as ideas and work of others to mid-size audiences (team level, department level, group level).
- Customer advocacy: Responsible for understanding, documenting, and communicating customer needs, and then translating those needs into specific features and functionality.
- Business representation: Capable of understanding business needs and thoughtfully balancing those with identified customer needs, and then communicating that balance effectively for decision-makers.
- An effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator.
- Develops expert knowledge of industry, competitive, comparative, complementary products. Ensures clear, defensible problem statements exist for design solutions.
- Delivers results in an agile, iterative design environment.
- Expert in modern UX design & research tools, including Figma
